Spanish Ships Scattered

The Spanish fleets first attacked us on July 21st after being sighted off the coast of Cornwall.

The Armada was sent by Phillip II of Spain in a failed attempt to make England Catholic and to take over more land.

Then Sir Frances Drake had a brilliant idea: He set some empty English ships a light and sent them among the Spanish. The Spanish thought they were full of explosives.

Many Spanish ships were wrecked on the way home.

Tom, a ships boy, quoted that he was jolly proud.
